The new icon reached the app's windows. Version 2.5.4 swapped the icon at every size in the package, but the one embedded in the executable stayed old — and it's where every window's title bar, the taskbar, the tray and the jump list take theirs from. The executable now ships the new icon in seven sizes, from 16 to 256.

The folder address is readable again in the dark theme. In the list of open tabs, the tooltip with the folder address showed dark text on a dark background. It now takes the right color from the balloon itself, in both themes.

The gestures work in every mode. In the Icons, Tiles and List modes, double-click to open, drag to move and the two-slow-clicks rename did not respond — only the Details mode did. All five modes now behave like Explorer.

Folders have icons again. When Windows declines the folder icon, the app uses its own icon, drawn inside it, instead of insisting — and a failure is remembered for a few seconds instead of being retried nonstop.

Folders have their icons again. A passing Windows hiccup at app startup used to be stored as a final answer, and every folder showed no icon until the app was closed. It is no longer stored — and if Windows fails again, the system's standard folder icon steps in right away.

Nothing freezes. Every long operation is cancelable and the window keeps answering — and huge folders open right away, without waiting for icons.

Nothing gets lost. Paste, delete, rename and undo go into a single queue — two operations never touch the same files at the same time — and when something goes wrong (even copying as administrator), the app tells you what happened instead of pretending it finished.

Everything readable, everything explained. Colours and text tuned for the light and dark themes, and every empty screen says why and what to do next.

What’s new, inside the app. Every new version introduces itself once and stays at hand under Help ▸ About — in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The free trial goes from 7 to 15 days — and the Store review request now only appears after the purchase.

“This PC” opens where you expect it. Click it in the sidebar and the item now stays selected while the drives window appears in the foreground — no longer hidden behind the Explorer and visible only on the taskbar. The command in the Go menu continues to work normally.

It talks to Elegant Paper. Select several PDFs, right-click and choose Merge into one PDF — they arrive there in the order you selected them, not in alphabetical order. For a single file there's Open in Elegant Paper.

The file Paper creates comes back selected. Done merging, compressing or making a scan searchable over there? The Explorer opens the folder with the new file already selected — no hunting for it.

Automations that travel. An automation file (.efeauto) now opens with a double-click and shows a preview of everything that would be imported before a single rule gets in — you read it, check it, then decide.

None of this is mandatory. Without Elegant Paper installed, the Explorer is exactly what it always was — the options simply don't appear. When Paper shows up on your PC, the Explorer mentions it once, on a card you dismiss, and never brings it up again.

No window blocks the app any more. Settings, Auto-organization, Recipe Gallery, the detailed report, Tags, Action history, Printers and the Manual now open alongside: you keep browsing, selecting and working with them open.

Opening from outside lands where it should. A file opened by another app arrives on the right tab — including when the Explorer was closed.

Network like Explorer: type //server or smb:// in the address bar or the network dialogs — the app understands, lists the shares and suggests places you've already visited.

Cleaner filters: filtering by type, size or extension shows only the files that match.

Sharper Automation screen: smooth scrolling, clicks that land on the right button, and compact mode now applies to the run history too.

Action history on the taskbar thumbnail: see what each undo would do, right from the icon hover.

Finish: compact density with more breathing room, repeating reminders flagged (↻), Recipe Gallery without the hover balloon, and an extra safety notice when importing automations.

A Finder that forgives typos: it tolerates mistakes (edit distance 1), suggests “Did you mean…” when a search comes back empty, and autocompletes as you type.

Opening RAR, 7z and TAR now browses INSIDE the archive and shows the preview — just like ZIP, instead of falling back to Windows Explorer.

Redesigned Tags & reminders screen: status trays (overdue, today, next 7 days, scheduled, done, no date), search, multi-select and bulk actions (complete, snooze, delete).

Supercharged automation rules screen: filters, multi-field search, collapsible grouping and a compact list for thousands of rules — and the history now filters, sorts and deletes runs.

Finder usable on a narrow blade: the footer options no longer crowd or vanish — Deep search became an always-visible chip and the advanced ones live in a ⚙ Options menu.

Menus and ribbon reorganized for a more professional feel: a dedicated Automation menu, destinations gathered under Navigate, right-click submenus and the clipboard on the Edit ribbon.

The Cards/Compact button on the Automation screen now inherits the theme (no more clashing blue background).

Help instructions now point to the new Automation menu.

Drag-to-select in the main panel now draws the box expanding over your files — just like the side panels (before, it selected without drawing the box).

The active tab now has an accent outline in your theme color: thin, translucent and soft, wrapping the top and the sides.

Statistics redesigned: a category composition donut, real sizes (recursive scan), top types and largest files. Right-clicking a folder now analyzes that folder.

Details for thousands of files open instantly: a category summary plus a virtualized list, no freeze.

The Modern (Fluent) look is now the default; Classic went flat and Mica-free again, clearly distinct from Fluent. Switch it in Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Style.

The classic menu bar is now hidden by default without leaving an empty strip: the reminder bell moves to the ribbon, and a discreet button restores the bar at any time. The two surfaces are never hidden together — hiding one brings the other back, so the bell never disappears.
