Rules that read inside the document.

A filename rarely holds what matters. The invoice number, the client, the words on the page live inside the file. A rule can read them, so it matches on meaning, not just the name — and it still watches folders in real time, just like DropIt's monitored folders.

Reads inside the file. Match text inside PDFs — including scanned ones, via native OCR — plus Word, Excel and text files, with plain terms or regex.
AND/OR condition groups. The associations you knew from DropIt, now with richer, nested logic.

The classic really did stop

This is not a sales line, it is DropIt’s own file: the last entry in its changelog is version 8.5.1, dated 2018. Download sites still label it “latest 2026”, which says more about download sites than it does about DropIt.

The cloud learned to tidy up

In June 2026 Google made Organize My Files generally available in Drive: Gemini reads your folder structure and suggests where the loose files should go. It is genuinely useful — and it only works on files that already live on Google’s servers.

And it is rented, not bought

The organizers that arrived with the wave price by the month or by the year — around $15 a month, or $99 a year, in a 2026 roundup of the category. Elegant is bought once: the version you paid for is yours, offline, for good.
